With more than thirty companies participating in the process, the shortlist of three finalists has been published and will be chosen for this third edition of the award: Ehlis, Comercial Ulsa and Recodul.

The Zubizarreta Legacy Award promotes the diffusion and development of Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives in the hardware, industrial supply and construction sector and has an annual prize of 3.000 €.

The organization suggests that these resources be allocated to leverage the initiatives the awarded company develops within its Social Responsibility policy, in the areas of Environment, commitment to the Community, etc. supporting the defence and promotion of business ethics, and the recognition of the values of effort and commitment.

A large number of firms from the sector have shown their interest in this new edition of the Zubizarreta Legacy recognition.

With a very heterogeneous profile, this year's edition was attended by referenced national business groups, family businesses, etc. from different sectors such as: hardware, industrial supply or rental of construction machinery, for example.

The content of the projects presented were also very heterogeneous, with interesting initiatives in areas such as health, poverty and exclusion, culture, sport, environment, and many others.

In the first phase of the process, a shortlist of three finalists has been selected: Ehlis, Comercial Ulsa and Recodul, from which the final award will be decided during the month of September.

 

 

Ehlis S.A. and the social work of San Juan de Dios

 

This is a project, due to its philosophy of integrating this initiative within its wide network of Cadena 88 partners, is clearly aligned with the Zubizarreta Legacy philosophy.

This is a collaboration agreement with the social work of the San Juan de Dios Foundation and has a large financial envelope, linked to the number of associates in the group and with a time horizon of several financial years.

The project involves two annual projects, the first of them is always related to childhood and childhood cancer research.

The second, which will change on an annual basis, will be related with projects that cover the whole of society and in different parts of Spain. For this year it will be focused on HOMELESSNESS AND HEALTH, with a contribution aimed at the health access programme for homeless people.

 

 

Comercial Ulsa

Located in Valladolid and with more than 50 years of experience in the sector, Comercial Ulsa is a leading company in Castilla y León, especially in the labour protection sector.

Of family origin, the second generation currently in the management of the firm, develops an intense social initiatives in different areas such as training, with the creation of Cylcee an special employment centre; sport, health, with solidarity actions in favour of the Multiple Sclerosis Association, emergencies, with sustainability by being self-sufficient with its 4 photovoltaic plants on the roof that reach almost 500kw, etc. and is also widely committed to its social fabric being active members of the business and cultural associations of its environment.

Recodul

Recodul S.L. is a leading company in the sale, distribution and manufacture of construction materials in southern Spain, operating under the Pérez Lázaro, L'Atalaya and SUMUM brands.

 The Zubizarreta Legacy Award will finally be awarded in September, coinciding with the date on which IMCOINSA is set up on its thirty-eighth anniversary, of which he was the manager until his daughter and sons María José, Juan and Fernando took over from him who expressed his "satisfaction with the interest shown in this initiative. We are succeeding in highlighting and raising awareness in the sector of the importance of the values of effort and social commitment".
